Hi, I'm Emanuelli Assis Ludwig, but you can call me Manu, a Brazilian living in Switzerland for the last seven years. I'm the mother of two amazing children - one five years old and the other just four months old - and I'm also an individual entrepreneur in the digital and technology fields. Today, I want to share a bit of my story and how therapy has become an essential tool for maintaining my mental and emotional well-being amid the challenges I face as a mother, wife, entrepreneur and immigrant.

The Reality of Immigration
Living in a different country brings countless opportunities, but also significant challenges. Adapting to Swiss culture, finding a support network and feeling nostalgic for my homeland were just some of the difficulties I faced. Often, the feeling of loneliness and the pressure to succeed in the new life can be overwhelming. What helped me deal with these feelings was recognizing that I wasn't alone on this journey.

Motherhood: A Challenge and a Blessing
Being a mother is a wonderful experience, but it also demands a lot of us. With an older child and a newborn, the overload of responsibilities can be intense. The pressure to be the perfect mother, balance family and professional life, and still take care of myself often seems like an impossible task. During this phase, I realized that my mental health needed to be a priority.
Entrepreneurship and the Search for Balance
As an entrepreneur, the pressure to grow and maintain my business in a competitive market is constant. The uncertainty of entrepreneurship, combined with the demands of motherhood and cultural adaptation, can create significant stress. However, I found therapy a safe space to discuss these challenges and develop coping strategies. Therapy helped me understand that you don't have to carry the weight of the world on your back and that asking for help is a sign of strength.
The importance of therapy
Weekly therapy with a psychologist I trust has become a fundamental pillar in my life. Through the sessions, I was able to explore my feelings, face my fears and develop resilience. I believe that therapy is a valuable tool for anyone, especially those who, like me, face the complexities of immigration, motherhood, marriage and entrepreneurship.
Therapy taught me the importance of self-care and recognizing my limits. It helped me cultivate empathy and open communication in my marriage, strengthening our bond. In addition, by dealing with my emotional challenges, I was able to be a more present mother and a more focused entrepreneur.

A message for you
If you are going through a challenging time, whether as a mother, wife, entrepreneur or immigrant, remember: there is no shame in seeking help. Therapy is not just for those who are facing crises; it is a valuable resource for everyone who wants to live a more balanced and fulfilling life. Don't hesitate to invest in your mental well-being. Just like me, you can discover a new perspective and find the strength you need to face life's challenges.
Conclusion
My journey as an immigrant, mother, wife and entrepreneur has been full of ups and downs. However, therapy has become a beacon of hope and transformation. By sharing my story, I hope to inspire other women to prioritize their mental health and recognize the importance of self-care. Together, we can face the challenges and build a life full of meaning and purpose.
Remember: you are not alone on this journey. If you need support, consider seeking the help of a professional. The road to well-being begins with the first step - and that step can be therapy.
